International Committees Day

On 15 November 2025, ICOM’s International Committees will host dedicated ICs Day programmes across a wide range of museums and cultural institutions throughout Dubai and the UAE.

These off-site sessions offer a unique opportunity for delegates to engage in discussions led by ICOM’s International Committees, expert lectures, cultural presentations, and networking activities beyond the main conference venue.

Each programme reflects the distinct focus and expertise of the hosting committee and their partner institution.

International Committee for Conservation

ICCROM - Sharjah Regional Conservation Centre

Since its establishment in 2012, the ICCROM Regional Centre in Sharjah, UAE, has played a crucial role in advancing ICCROM’s mission in the Arab region by promoting regional collaboration, community engagement, and cultural heritage advocacy. The Centre supports the protection of architectural and archaeological heritage, including historic sites, monuments, and collections, and works to enhance the capacity of heritage institutions for sustainable management.

It achieves this through training programs, capacity building, field activities, workshops, and knowledge sharing. The Centre operates in partnership with Arab Member States, with generous support from His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, alongside other contributors.

Al Shindagha Museum is situated in the historic Al Shindagha Neighbourhood – a neighbourhood of over 162 historic houses that witnessed the growth of modern Dub.

The Museum is divided into 22 pavilions spread over 80 houses, each one exploring a different aspect of Dubai’s unique cultural heritage.

Coffee Museum

The museum is a showcase that connects the past and the present of the coffee world. Different roasting and brewing styles from various countries are live demonstrated as well as GROUND FLOOR international antique items are represented. Coffee lovers can buy related items from our Museum shop.

Etihad Museum

A dynamic 21st century museum, Etihad Museum is focused on inspiring its visitors with the story of the founding of the UAE. The 25,000 m2 landmark is befittingly located at the very place where the UAE was founded in 1971. Through a unique visitor journey, the various pavilions house experience-driven exhibitions, interactive programmes and education initiatives that explore the chronology of events that culminated in the unification of the Emirates in 1971, with a key emphasis on the period between 1968 and 1974. The programmes also aim to educate visitors about the nation’s constitution, in particular – the rights, privileges, and responsibilities that it bestows upon the people of the UAE.

Museum Of The Future

The Museum of the Future is the first museum of its kind. Built to transform the very perception of the future as we know it, the unique structure has become home to several immersive future environments that aim to position visitors in an empowering version of the future. Through distinctive themes, it elicits a world we thought we could only experience 50 years from now. Visitors become active participants in an expansive experience that taps into all five senses. By meaningfully merging aspects of science, technology and spirituality, the museum inspires humanity to re-imagine the future and all its possibilities.
One of the most complex and ambitious projects ever executed, with an instantly iconic inimitable exterior. Rising 77-metres above the ground and comprising 1,024 unique stainless steel composite panels, the façade is adorned in Arabic calligraphy, displaying three quotes written by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Ruler of Dubai.
